Baidu Algorithm Update: Strong Wind
Recently, Baidu search technology team found that some websites and malicious apps constructed pages with aggregated content to gain search rankings and get traffic from Baidu search.
In order to ensure the experience of search users and the fairness of search results, Baidu Search will launch the Strong Wind algorithm in the near future to control the impact of maliciously constructed aggregation pages.
The term “aggregation page” refers to the pages integrating information from other pages, not containing one original lead article, but rather a listing of snippets of multiple pages around a specific topic collected to an kind of overview- or category page or syndicated page.
Once bad aggregation pages are recognized, they will be evaluated both through real user evaluation of the site and an intelligent routine to identify wether their appearance in Baidu search results pages shall be reduced. This algorithm covers all websites and intelligent routine resources within the scope of Baidu search.
Bad aggregation page problems mainly include the following four types:
- The content of the page does not match the field to which the site belongs, or the site has no focus area, most of which are collected and patchwork content.
Example 1: Dispersion of site content domain
- The content of the page does not match the title and the labels marked on the page.
Example of question 2: the content of the page does not match the title.
- Static search results page generated by website search function.
Example 3: Static search results page
- Aggregation pages with short empty, no valid information and invalidity.
Example 4: Aggregation pages without valid information
The above four types of bad aggregation page problems are the main contents of this strong wind algorithm. Developers are also requested to pay attention to it and investigate and rectify in time.
